NELP platform dashboard showing nursing excellence metrics and designation progress

Nursing Excellence Leadership Platform (NELP) is the only unified platform for ANCC Designations, Professional Governance, Clinical Ladders, and EBP.

About NELP

Building the system of record for nursing excellence

NELP is the only unified platform for Professional Governance, Clinical Ladder, Clinical Inquiry, and ANCC Designation programs.

Council minutes, ANCC stories, EBP projects, and Clinical Ladder portfolios live in one source of truth, ready for Magnet®, Pathway®, and PTAP® development. Automatically identified Magnet® stories surface from everyday program activity and map to standards as the work happens, so evidence builds continuously rather than at submission. Organizations can evidence the ROI of nursing excellence in the language of the boardroom: readiness, retention, FTE hours, and quantified return.

Built in partnership with Dr. Tim Porter O'Grady, Dr. Bob Hess, and Dr. Vicki George to centralize every nursing excellence activity and measure ROI across every program.

Our vision

There is no system of record for nursing excellence. NELP is building it

One platform where every council decision, clinical ladder submission, EBP project, and designation narrative is captured, connected, and tied to measurable outcomes. When nursing excellence has real infrastructure, it stops being invisible. It becomes a visible driver of quality, retention, and patient care across the entire health system.

The role

What you’ll be doing

  • Be available as a clinical expert to pressure-test workflows, language, standards mapping, and document logic with the product team.
  • Guide implementations with health system partners on complex, high-stakes program work.
  • Introduce NELP to colleagues and peers leading excellence programs across your network.
The fit

What we’re looking for

  • 15+ years of nursing experience.
  • Experience writing multiple Magnet® documents.
  • Experience achieving Magnet® with Distinction is a strong bonus.
  • Experience managing simultaneous Magnet® and Pathway® designations.
  • Experience designing and implementing professional governance.
  • DNP or PhD preferred.
  • Prior experience as a CNO, Director of Nursing Excellence, or Magnet Program Director preferred.
  • ANCC appraiser experience preferred.
  • Experience with Pathway to Excellence®, PTAP, or Well-being Excellence is a nice to have.
Why join

Why join NELP

Impact

Your expertise will shape how health systems run the programs that retain nurses and improve patient care. This isn't abstract. The guidance you give becomes product that nursing leaders use every day.

Influence

You'll advise on product strategy alongside an experienced team building the system of record for nursing excellence, with room to shape what gets built and how it's delivered.

Problem space

Healthcare's designation and professional governance work still runs on spreadsheets and shared drives. You've lived that pain. Help build the infrastructure nursing has needed for years.

Flexibility

We're open to full-time, part-time, or advisory engagement. What matters is deep clinical expertise and a desire to put it to work at the product and implementation level.
