Accessibility Statement

Effective date: September 1, 2025

Our Commitment

NELP is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We believe that every healthcare professional should have equal access to the tools and resources needed to support nursing excellence, regardless of disability or assistive technology use.

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards across our platform, website, and all digital experiences. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following features to support accessibility:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard, with visible focus indicators throughout the platform.
  • Screen Reader Support: Our interface is built with semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and roles to provide a meaningful experience for screen reader users.
  • Color Contrast: We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA requirements for text and interactive elements.
  • Text Alternatives: Images, icons, and non-text content include descriptive alternative text.
  • Responsive Design: Our platform adapts to various screen sizes and supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Form Accessibility: All form fields include clear labels, error messages are announced to assistive technology, and required fields are clearly indicated.
  • Skip Navigation: Skip-to-content links are provided to help keyboard users bypass repetitive navigation.
  • Motion Preferences: We respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query for users who prefer minimal animation.

Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is an ongoing priority at NELP. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our platform through:

  • Regular automated and manual accessibility audits
  • User testing with individuals who use assistive technologies
  • Training our design and development teams on accessibility best practices
  • Incorporating accessibility requirements into our development process from the start
  • Monitoring and addressing accessibility issues as they are identified

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some content or features may not yet fully meet all accessibility standards. We are actively working to identify and remediate any gaps. If you encounter content that is not accessible, please let us know so we can address it promptly.

Third-Party Content

Our platform may include content or integrations from third-party providers. While we encourage our partners to meet accessibility standards, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content. We work with our partners to improve accessibility and provide alternative access when possible.

Feedback & Contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the NELP platform. If you experience any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. We take all accessibility feedback seriously and will work to address concerns in a timely manner.

When contacting us about an accessibility issue, please include:

  • The URL or page where you encountered the issue
  • A description of the problem
  • The assistive technology you are using (if applicable)
  • Your preferred method of contact

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within two business days and to resolve identified issues as quickly as possible.

Conformance Status

The NELP platform is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working toward full conformance. Our goal is to achieve and maintain full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance across all areas of the platform.
